Good luck Tony..... I gave in and started before I got mine....but not for want of trying; I held out for three months !!!! Still I have mine now and it gives peace of mind if nothing else. Although I do have it straight from the man himself that he only ever gets time to check the Creek area and very rarely will he make it to Jumeirah beach. So if you fish anywhere else around Dubai then the chances of getting checked are zero. Then if you travel to Abu Dhabi or to Ajman or Umm Al Quwain it requires a local licence and they never check anyone (apparently). I have spoken to anglers in both Ajman and Umm Al Quwain and none of them had permits. They said that it was unnecessary and at worst you would just claim to be a tourist; which I guess you are in some respect Anyway, good luck and hopfully we can catch up for a social soon Tight lines Nick

All sorted - time to hit the water.
I have been looking through my gear and have brought some saltwater fly tack too!!!!!
So, spinning and fly fishing to start with :-)
Gonna hit creek park at my earliest convenience.

As I said in the other post...there are predators there and I was chatting to the indians in one yard and they showed me a photo of a 5 foot barracuda they had caught in their yard !
